To my knowledge right now, all of the heroes will have their own unique abilities just like the first game.
Also keep in mind that the money system will work differently and will play a bigger role in controlling the "money" game like other pro RTS'. How can MotW lose with so many powerful heroes on 1 side? I can tell you one thing these heroes will take money and a LOT of money to purchase a power combo like Aragorn and Gandalf. Don't forget that the mighty hobbits Merry and Pippin will also be available! At a first look, you think: Hero stacking. Then we have the Denethor brothers Boromir and Faramir and our Rohan allies Théoden, Eomer and Eowyn. As most of you guys know, these 2 heroes are by far the strongest heroes in the BfME. That means the near-invincible Aragorn and Word of OverPowering Gandalf will be fighting side by side.
What do we know about them so far? They have both Gondor and Rohan heroes to select from. Dark players will like the new powers and heroes for Mordor and Isengard and will drool over their new faction - The Goblins. This looks very promising for FoL players as it offers a very unique feel of gameplay. We have the combined strengths of Gondor and Rohan in a whole new faction called: Men of the West, we have the mighty Dwarves and their unique ingenuity, and we have the powerful Elves and their bows and magic. First and foremost, there will be 3 Forces of Light (FoL) in BfME2 as opposed to the first game. Let's first start with the Good factions and work our way down to Dark.
